Teenager

This is a hard one. There are seven teen years and the difference between 13 and 19 is huge; they enter as children and, hopefully, exit well on their way to becoming adults.

I've never personally used cameras in the Big Brother context with my family, but there are certainly those who do. Based on some of the stories I've heard, and given that most of the teenage years are spent living at home, those instances seem justified. Regardless, I don't know a single parent who doesn't want the best for their children ... and they will do whatever it takes to turn them into productive and independent adults.

If you're a working parent, a system that sends you a single email (with a snapshot or video attachment) when the child comes home after school could be reassuring and not too intrusive on either of you.

On the "Big Brother" end of the spectrum is a system with multiple, remotely controlled cameras (pan, tilt, and zoom) through which you can see live video at any time and from anywhere in the world you happen to be.

There are, depending on your needs, many other system choices between these two. Click PC-to-PC Video Phone on the left to see just one of them.
